In fact, the announcement of GTA 6 took place back in February 2022, when Rockstar Games confirmed that the new part was in active development. In the summer of 2022, Take-Two Interactive (owner of Rockstar) reported that development was in full swing.
After this, information was leaked onto the Internet several times, including screenshots and short videos. This made it possible to judge the gameplay and features of the upcoming game. We’ve written about it before.
The location of GTA 6 has been one of the hottest topics of discussion, and judging by the screenshots, it will again be Vice City. One of the main gaming insiders, Jason Schreier, confirmed this, but he noted that the game will feature a modern version of Vice City and not the version of the 80s. In general, it is expected that the GTA 6 map will be much larger than in the fifth part.
Various sources, even before the leak, claimed that the new GTA will have two main characters and for the first time in this series, one of them will be a woman. Even their names are known - Jason and Lucia. It is assumed that the line of heroes will be based on the story of the legendary robbers Bonnie and Clyde. As in previous GTAs, players will be immersed in an open world, using firearms, committing store robberies, and driving cars.
No one has announced an official release date yet, but Take-Two's financial reports indicate it will take place between April 2024 and March 2025. At the same time, some insiders are confident that the game will be released in the fall of 2024.
