First Neuralink user plays Mario Kart just by thinking

The first human with a Neuralink brain chip has played a video game with his mind. Without Neuralink's brain implant, this would not have been possible...

The first patient with a Neuralink chip implanted in his brain now can not only move the cursor on the computer screen and write tweets just by thinking but also hands-free controlling characters in video games.

During an event held by Musk's company, it became known that paralyzed Nolan Arbaugh is already doing a great job with Mario Kart, competing with his father, as well as practicing skills in Civilization VI.

According to the guy, the Neuralink implant has radically turned his life around, allowing him to perform various tasks on the computer with his mind, and gradually it turns out to be faster and more efficient, including playing games. He hopes that Elon Musk's company will help many more people.

Noland Arbaugh, 29, is the first patient to be implanted with a chip from Neuralink. The man was paralyzed below the shoulders after an accident more than eight years ago. With the help of a Neuralink implant, he can now interact with a computer again - but not through a mouse and keyboard, but with his mind.

The surgery to install the chip took place in January this year. According to Musk, the device's performance looks promising: in the future, it will allow not only to control electronics, but also to return mobility to limbs, fight depression, return hearing, and even make the brain work more efficiently.

And earlier this month, Elon Musk announced the release of another brain implant called Blindsight. It is envisioned as a device that will allow blind people to see the world again. The implant is already being tested on monkeys.

P.S. We don't know where this is going, after all emerging technologies like Neuralink and Transhumanism raise legal and ethical questions of data ownership and control through brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). Another intriguing aspect of BCIs is their capability to track users' thoughts and emotions by detecting the brain's neuronal activity…
