The new gameplay trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter survival horror game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, developed by GSC Game World, provides more information about gunfights, weapon upgrades, ammo types, gun attachments, and more…
This time, players get a glimpse into the process of firefights and weapon customization. A British narrator, with a calm, measured voice, speaks about survival in the Zone.
The trailer highlights several types of weapons, including the series' iconic Kalashnikov and a bullpup rifle. It also shows the inventory management mechanics, which, at first glance, haven’t changed much from previous installments. Each item occupies a certain number of slots, requiring players to organize supplies wisely for efficient inventory use.
In the trailer, the player takes a scope from a dead bandit and immediately attaches it to the Kalashnikov, transforming it into a sniper rifle. The restrained narrator in the background explains that each weapon in the game feels unique, with its handling influenced by modifications.
The video reveals extensive weapon customization options. For example, the bullpup can be disassembled into seven modules. However, many upgrades appear to focus on percentage boosts: increasing aiming speed by 5%, reducing spread by 20%, and so forth. A double magazine attachment for the rifle is also shown.
Weapons in the game still follow the laws of physics and ballistics. The Kalashnikov’s effectiveness decreases with distance to the target. Enemies' armor and clothing will also affect the damage they receive.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to release on November 20, 2024. Gamers have been waiting for this moment for 15 years! Sequel will be available on Game Pass, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG).
There is a chance STALKER 2 may launch on PlayStation 5 in the future, but GSC Game World’s exclusivity deal with Microsoft limits it to PC and Xbox for now. Once the deal expires, a PS5 version could be reconsidered, with a possible release in 2025 or 2026. However, due to this agreement, a PlayStation release won’t happen soon, and any launch could be delayed further if technical issues arise.
We will remind you, that Ukrainian video game developer GSC recently shared the official system requirements for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, noting that a 10-year-old graphics card will be sufficient for a comfortable gaming experience…
