Big Fan Games, a new publishing label under Devolver Digital, which was established just two weeks ago, has already announced its first game: “Tron: Catalyst”. This is a new narrative-driven adventure project in the roguelike spirit of “Hades”. The game is being developed by Bithell Games, known for the visual novel “Tron: Identity”.
At the center of the story is a program named Exo, which works as a courier in the virtual System. While the game will not feature an open world, the developers promise expansive locations that can be explored on foot and the iconic light cycle.
The gameplay of “Tron: Catalyst” focuses on dynamic combat and world exploration. The game resembles “Hades” with its isometric camera and continuous flow of action.
The main character, Exo, uses an identity disc as her primary weapon, which can be used for close-range attacks, long-distance throws, and combined strikes by bouncing it off surfaces and enemies. All this is accompanied by the bright neon style that creates the signature Tron atmosphere.
The developers promise a deep character upgrade system that allows players to improve both combat and navigation skills. Some upgrades will be unlocked throughout the story, while others can be accessed by collecting green data fragments to gain experience.
The game is set to release in 2025. It will be available on PC, Mac, PlayStation5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
